This is a non-nail polish post, unfortunately! But never fear! OPI, China Glaze Magnetics, and Nubar Jellybeans are on the horizon!

Squared Nails is powered by WordPress. Many nail bloggers prefer Blogger, but I have always preferred WordPress. I have a pretty technical background, so this makes the most sense for me, personally. I use Google Friend Connect to track my followers, but this is done on a non-Google powered site. After hearing about this on a couple other blogs, it seems that Google is being all power hungry with their stupid Google+ format (my personal opinion) and are doing away with Google Friend Connect for sites that are not powered by Blogger.

I believe as of March 1, all sites that use GFC on a non-Google website will not be able to track their followers, and therefore those followers will not be able to get updates to the sites that they follow. I think this is just a move by Google to force people to use Google+.

I really, really, really do not want to use Google+. I tried it when it first came out, after many people just said how ‘wonderful’ it was. I personally don’t like it,  and no one really is using it. However, I still would like to know how many of my readers actually use Google+.

Thankfully, my GFC is about to get to 500 followers, and I will be doing a giveway very soon. I just need to sort through the items I want to giveaway, but I hope to post that soon.

I really don’t need yet another social media site to deal with, so if you want to continue getting updates, I would strongly suggest that you join my Facebook page. You can also just add this site’s rss feed to a rss reader of your choice. I update the Facebook page very regularly, and those updates also link to my Twitter.

I do apologize for those of you that follow me on GFC. Hopefully the options I have listed above will help everyone out.
